Jonny Crossbones: Down Hanover Wash is an ongoing adventure comic for all ages. Follow Jonny, a young auto mechanic in a skeleton suit, as he and Gretchen Fiveash, the niece of a wealthy adventurer, navigate an eventful lakeside vacation while learning more about themselves and their unknown, shared past!
First time readers might be best served by starting at the beginning of Jonny's First adventure, Dead Man at Devil's Cove.
To be fair, we dont know the caliber. A 22 bullet has very little stopping and killing power, it can be stopped by a thightly knit poncho (and still carry the force of a hammer through, of course). The professors dont seem to know much about villany in general, so i wouldnt be surprised if they just grabbed whatever weapons they had at home.
I think I se it, Les! RE WHY they’re surprised: I can almost read their minds “And of course you’ll insist on trying to find the treasure. Can’t you PLEASE just forget about it, and let it go, Jonny? They SHOT you! In the head! We’re concerned for you — and for ourselves! Or do you think that when you find the treasure, they’ll somehow this time magically NOT show up?”
Just noticed that Gretchen always wears a green top and denim bottoms, and Jonny a grey top and tan bottoms. A good way of keeping the character the ‘same’ without making them only have one set of clothes.
Well if that’s all it took, he should have gotten himself shot at much earlier.
So, Jonny can survive a point-blank shot to the head. I’ll never fear for him again.

Forsythe carries a Beretta 9mm. Jonny survived for a reason I’m not sharing just yet.
Is it just me, or do Doc and Gretchen seem less than happy about Jonny’s news, in the last panel?
I was trying to show that they were surprised by his sudden exclamation. Maybe it didn’t come through?
Yes, maybe; I suppose. It came through!
Thank you for responding to my post, Les!
