Jonny Crossbones: Down Hanover Wash is an ongoing adventure comic for all ages. Follow Jonny, a young auto mechanic in a skeleton suit, as he and Gretchen Fiveash, the niece of a wealthy adventurer, navigate an eventful lakeside vacation while learning more about themselves and their unknown, shared past!
First time readers might be best served by starting at the beginning of Jonny's First adventure, Dead Man at Devil's Cove.
Man, i must admit i was pretty bothered by all the complications you had with the original drawings and the subsecuent abandonement of the comic. I still checked in every few months tho. I started reading from scratch again today, and oh god, you are GOOD. I like Burzum (a solo band), and the guy is a literal murderous nationalist. I still buy his discs. So i guess i shouldnt get worked up by a little irresponsibility on a comic you work on for free (which, by the way, you should totally make a hardback of). Glad you are back man, i hope you have whatever problems caused your previous dissapearance sorted out. Do recommend some of your other works, id love to support you in some way that brought me something good to read.
I’m afraid a lot of what was keeping me from working on this project is that it takes me a tremendous amount of time to do and I don’t make any money on it. Over the last decade or so I’ve done a bunch of other projects that have taken up most of my time and energy. Most of them are still available, if you’d like to see them:
I spent a couple years working for Friends Night Productions, which produced Fox’s ADHD animation block. I was a character designer/special poses designer on AXE COP,MAJOR LAZER, and GOLAN THE INSATIABLE.
I’ve also been doing a lot of book and magazine illustration, I did a lot of freelance action figure design for Hasbro for a couple years, and some packaging design for the company my friends at Hasbro started when they got laid off.
I just finished up a book called “Head Games” with Craig McDonald and Kevin Shingles, that should be out sometime in 2017 from First Second. Kevin did most of the art, I just stepped in to finish part of it.
I’ve got another book I’m just now starting for First Second, written by Brian McDonald. That will probably be out in 2018 or 2019.
I’ve been trying to figure out a way to get this comic to make some money, and I’ve been making decisions about the work I take that get me closer to my eventual goal of making this my full-time job, but it’s a tough go. Hopefully I’ll have some good news about that later this year. I’ve dedicated myself to keeping up this weekly schedule until this story is finished, then hopefully continuing it or speeding it up to 3 or 5 updates a week with another story, but that’s all dependent on time and money. I’m working on it.
Man, this is so good. I always get pleasure from reading this story. I just recently went back & started rereading the previous pages from the beginning & have now caught up again with the new stuff. This is so well done & loads of fun! I can hardly wait to find out what happens & to see more gorgeous artwork!
Ooop! Boom!
