Jonny Crossbones: Down Hanover Wash is an ongoing adventure comic for all ages. Follow Jonny, a young auto mechanic in a skeleton suit, as he and Gretchen Fiveash, the niece of a wealthy adventurer, navigate an eventful lakeside vacation while learning more about themselves and their unknown, shared past!
First time readers might be best served by starting at the beginning of Jonny's First adventure, Dead Man at Devil's Cove.
I should mention that Jon Siruno, who has been flatting these comics for me, has been too busy with other work for the last few months so my wife Crystal stepped up and flatted this week’s comic and will continue to do the flatting for me for the foreseeable future! She may end up doing the final coloring as well if she feels up to it and I can get myself to loosen my control-freak grip on the final product.
I’ve got a small suspicion in the back of my brain that Jen’s definition of “safe keepen” may have encompassed distributing it between various harbour pubs. 😉 But then, I don’t actually know him yet either and wouldn’t want to jump to any premature conclusions.
Sorry! I’ve got a ton of work to do, deadlines are looming, and wildfire smoke made normal life impossible for an entire week so I haven’t been able to get anything done on this comic for a while. I’m trying to catch up on work and fill my bank account back up and as soon as I can I’ll be updating again.
New and hopefully better haiku:
Haiku: Are you o
kay, Les? Gretch and J okay?
We’re on tenterhooks!
Okay, Les! I’ll take myself off those tenterhooks. Do what you need to do, and take just as much time as you need to do it! I’ll see the next update when I see the next update! Be well until then! Peace!
I hope you’re okay, Les! And I’m curious as to what you’re doing besides Jonny Crossbones (not really my business) — which does NOT mean I think you should be doing J.C. instead (I don’t). Do what you gotta (and wanna) do, and be well, and be happy! If you want.
I’ve been washing all kinds of laundry! I’m also in the middle of drawing another graphic novel for First Second that’s been giving me more trouble than I anticipated. I’ve been having focus problems all year and I’m way behind deadline on it so I’m focusing on that until it’s done. I expect to be finished in early February and then I don’t have anything else to distract me for a little while.
This really is the best Tintin-homage comic ever done! And not just an homage, it has its own personality and vibe. If we have to wait a bit longer to see it completed, it is well worth it!

No!!!!
Also: Who’s Jen?

Looks good!

No worries. The wildfires messed with a lot of people, us included (we were in a Level 2 evac zone). Jonny can wait. Stay safe.

Just got caught up in time for the finale! What a wonderful ride. Count me down for a hard copy when this goes to press!
Stay safe, and best of luck.
Hope it comes before Trump’s re-election…

…and only 4 pages… We wait for so long. Quite 20 years….
Les? Are you still alive?!?!
He is washing blankets….

! Are you alright otherwise? Everything okay RE wildfire smoke?
Yeah, the Portland area cleared up pretty quickly. We only had one or two real bad weeks back in September when I was wearing a filter mask inside.
Good!
How’s Crystal?!?!
I hope the lid on that chest drops down on his big nose.
it’s early February
How many fans will die and never read the end of Jonny’s adventures ?

I agree! Looking forward to the next installment as well.
Same here, checking back every week or so.
Hope all the fans out there are doing well!
And hope Les is doing well as well!
Another wish to see this completed – maybe a Patreon set up would help?
Not a bad idea.
Hi.
Will you allow me to republish the Persian translation of Jonny Crossbones on my Instagram page?
