New stuff coming Tuesday!

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

There’s new strips to be had coming Tuesday, picking up where we left off last December.  I think the last two strips from then should be up in the gallery.  I’m going to redesign this page using ComicPress 2.5 sometime before then.  Maybe it will look less terrible and be a little more functional.

New look!

Here’s my revamped version of the website.  I’m sure there’s still a lot of tweaks to do, so expect it to keep changing slightly over the next few weeks.

Welcome back!

Back on track!

I’ve already completed and prepared for posting a month in advance.  So you can look forward to Tuesday and Thursday updates until at least the end of September.  I mentioned in my last post that I will not be taking on any other comics projects until this one is finished, and I’m working full time on it (while squeezing in freelance illustration work to pay the bills) and I hope to be finished with all the art by the end of 2008– meaning it will have taken me four and a half years to complete the whole thing.  I hope volume 2 will go a bit faster.

Week of One Hundred Drawings

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Over at my other site, I am drawing and posting one hundred individual 6×6 illustrations, and selling the originals for just $10 each.

I’m taking suggestions and custom orders.  Check it out!

A question for our readers

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Is it bothering anyone that there are whole strips written entirely in a made-up language nobody can read?  I was thinking it would be fun for people to try to hash out what was being said– and I don’t think anyone will be confused if they don’t understand.

I’m curious what you think!

Also, if you’re interested in trying to translate it, here’s a hint: Plodokian is a Romance language (largely French in terms of conjugation because that’s the only other language other than English I speak even a little) with a strong Germanic influence and a weird Yoda-like syntax.

Free kitties!

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

kitties.jpg

My lovely lady friend Crystal has a problem– she moving. However, she can’t bring her kitties to the new apartment!

We need to find a home for these little guys. On the left is Gracie, and on the right is a picture of a cat I found on the internet that looks just like a thinner version of Theodore because I can’t find any pictures of him. They’re both neutered and have all their shots. They’re just shy of two years old. Both are very social and affectionate (though Gracie takes an hour or two to warm up to new people.) They’re both litter trained. They’ve been indoor cats their whole lives, though Theodore especially has expressed an interest in the outdoors.

If you’re in the Portland Oregon area (I’d be willing to drive up to 200 miles to deliver them to you, though) let me know if you’d like to take on two little boarders. You can reach me via email at lesmcclaine@gmail.com .

We’d really like to put them in a good home instead of leaving them with a pet placement agency, so let me know!

Also, feel free to spread this around. It’s breaking our hearts to let go of them and we want to know they’re all right.

***UPDATE 3-30-2008***

Thanks, guys. We ended up bringing Gracie to the Cat Adoption Team, a local no-kill shelter, and I’m sure she’ll find a good home there. I took Theodore myself.  I’ve put him on a diet and  he’s been losing some of that weight I mentioned.
