No update Friday
Hey, sorry there’s no update today. I found a HUGE mistake I made in the writing (I knew there was a problem, I just didn’t realize how bad it was and thought I could fix it with some dialogue editing) and I’m going back and changing a bunch of dialogue and some artwork earlier in the story. So, no update. I’ll be working on this fix more tomorrow, too, but I hope to have a new strip up for Monday.

Yep, shit happens sometimes in the process. Happens to everyone once in a while ofcourse.
I’ll wait patiently and enjoy every new update.

So no new website design this weekend?

Does this mean . . . that everything we thought we knew was wrong?
Seriously, don’t worry about it. It takes a big man to admit a mistake, but now you can fix it and move ahead, and the final product will be better for it. I can’t imagine what a tightrope it is, to serialize something on the web. Normal books allow for revisions in the writing process, so why shouldn’t comics?

Let us know when the old new stuff is up too, so we can go back and catch up reading. No big thing writers always go through many drafts before the final product is reached which only makes it better.

Well I for one am looking forward to catching up with the adventures of Jenny Crossbones and her pal Gregor Fiveash…!
Seriously, I am just grateful that you offer us the strips that you do, so thanks for letting us know, and good luck with getting the story back to the way you want it to be!

Les, I hope you plan to tell us what’s changed from the past. I kind of wish you were telling us what’s changing for the unseen script. Maybe you’ll include it in the forward of Johnny’s next book or something?

What does Jonny dress up as for Halloween BTW? Does he take the mask off, sport that keen pirate hat from before or what?

you know what would be so rad is if you posted like a from-sketch-to-ink drawing of Gretchen. Her body shape is so cool and you do it so consistently, I feel like you probably have an awesome ritual you go through when drawing her. And I wants to see it.

James – Is that not his skin? I think he’d have to put a ‘normal face’ mask on.

@Kirsty
I thought so too, and I even had this whole theory going on that Jonny was the “everyman” because you could kinda put your own “skin” on him and thus the reader became part of the story… that is until noah or somebody pointed out that the text blurb at the top left of the comic says that Jonny is a “young auto mechanic in a skeleton suit” and it blew my theory out of the Pirate Lagoon.
I think if he takes the mask off, he looks just like Les.

only less

wow man, how big of a mistake are we talking about here? I feel like you could have remade Chapeter 3 by now
November 9th, 2009 at 6:28 am
I was being sarcastic and exaggerating, but then I realized that you really could have probably remade Chapter 3 by now. So what has had to change, it must be a lot.

Or maybe he has other things to do with his time?

patience is a virtue.

I suspect he’s busy doing the Tick project and perhaps other secret stuff.
Les?
